Formals at Snow Canyon + St. George Temple
Cole grew up in Idaho and Summer grew up in Arizona. They met while at school in Rexburg through a dance party and exchanging numbers through their living room windows. Long story short, they ended up hanging out and their apartments became friends, and the rest is history.
Summer’s parents got married in the Saint George LDS temple, and she also really wanted to get married there, BUT the temple was closing soon for renovations and would not be opened back up for a few years. When Cole and Summer got engaged, they didn’t have very long before it was going to be closed. They decided to pull it off anyways! They were sealed just a few weeks before the temple closed down.
We did their formals the day before their actual wedding. I LOVE spending a day either before or after a wedding taking all of the photos of just the two of them. It is honestly the best for so many reasons! To name a few–we don’t have the stress of sticking to the wedding day timeline and hurrying around, we get to spend more time with the two of you, we get to go more than just your wedding venue, and we have more control over the weather! It’s the best.
Summer had told me that when she bought her dress, she imagined her photos in red rocks. YOU KNOW WE MADE IT HAPPEN! Whenever I shoot at the St. George temple, I always prefer shooting formals somewhere in Snow Canyon. I really love shooting in Snow Canyon! The petrified Sand Dunes are unreal. They are so unique, and they are also pretty easy to walk around on, even if it looks like they are kind of steep. I love shooting at the St. George temple, too! The white temple is so unique, and it’s also usually way warmer there than it is in Provo.
