SAND DUNES FORMALS – ST. ANTHONY, IDAHO – DEVIN + LEXI.

Devin and Lexi are so sweet. We actually all grew up in the same small hometown in Idaho. They got married in February and had a ceremony with their closest family and friends. It was pretty cold! They had their reception in Idaho shortly after that, and we were planning on doing their formals then. It was also pretty snowy and windy, and they really wanted the sand dunes for their formals. Because of the weather, we decided to just push off their formals for a little bit.

Well, then COVID-19 hit hahahaha! We were finally able to make it happen in September! It was also super windy at the sand dunes in St. Anthony. Even though I grew up only an hour from the sand dunes, it wasn’t until a few years ago that I had gone for the first time. I love doing formals at the sand dunes! Actually, I like doing just about any photoshoot at the sand dunes! BUT, when it is windy, it’s pretty crazy. When it’s windy, it HURTS! The sand hits your skin so hard, and it really hurts! It’s also really hard to photograph in blowing sand, too because it’s hard to keep my eyes open hahahaha! BUT, on the plus side, because of the weather, we had the sand dunes to ourselves!!

Usually, I run into problems at the dunes when there are lots of people around because of the tracks! But the wind was making the sand perfect!!!! We really did have a lot of fun running around in the sand for their shoot! These two are goofballs and just make me laugh the whole time. At the end of the day, I loved having the wind because the pictures turned out beautifully!!! LIKE HER DRESS BLOWING!!! I love it.
