LAVA ROCK ELOPEMENT || BLACKFOOT, IDAHO || COLTON + KERSTEN

LAVA ROCK ELOPEMENT. BLACKFOOT, IDAHO.

These lava rocks have actually played a huge role in both my life and in my business. It may sound cheesy, but I am so grateful for them! When I started doing photography in high school, this location was just a few miles up the road from my house. Anytime I wanted to go have a shoot with my friends, most of the time, we would end up at the lava rocks. Also, there really isn’t much in my hometown, so I really think that the lava rocks are just about the prettiest and most unique location within about 20 minutes of my house. We would go spend hours at the lava rocks just hiking around and finding cool places to shoot at. Now when I go home and have a photoshoot, I still recommend this place. I have never seen anyone else take photos there, and I still think it’s so cool.

Now, here’s a little story about how these lava rocks have played a huge role in my life, outside of just a location for me to take photos at. Anytime I would visit home from college, my sister and I would go to the lava rocks and take photos of each other. For those who don’t know, my husband and I met on Instagram. He saw a photo of me on Instagram and thought I was cute, so he messaged me. The photo he saw of me was actually one of me at the lava rocks! So if it weren’t for this spot, maybe I wouldn’t have ever met him?

It was so cool to go back to this location and do Colton and Kersten’s lava rock elopement there. They actually got married in Maui, but we went and took these formal photos for them to have as well. Their wedding photos in Maui are on lava rocks, so now they have wedding photos on lava rocks in both Hawaii and back at home near where they are from.
