DETAILS OF
SUNRISE SALT FLATS ELOPEMENT.
Nery and Kira had a true elopement, where they only spent a very short amount of time planning it. Kira and her family are from Australia, whereas Nery and his family are from Utah. They had a small window of time where her family would be visiting, and they decided to elope. They chose the Salt Flats because they eventually want to move and live in Australia, and they wanted their wedding photos to show part of their home here in Utah. What is more Utah than the Salt Flats??
They also chose to have a sunrise Salt Flats elopement for a couple of reasons. First, it was the middle of July, so they were trying to avoid the heat. Second, the Salt Flats are known to oftentimes be very windy. Sunrise is the best bet you have at not dealing with the wind. Third, they were hoping to avoid having a lot of people there. Sure enough, we got all three! There was absolutely no wind, it wasn’t very hot, and there wasn’t another soul in sight.
I met them at the Salt Flats before the sun had come up above the horizon, and it was one of the most calm and serene moments I have ever had. Watching the sunrise with them and taking photos of them before their guests arrived turned out to be such a perfect intimate start to their wedding day. If you are wanting to elope at the Salt Flats, I would 100% recommend doing a sunrise elopement.
Kira’s dress is from BHLDN, which is a great place to look at wedding dresses that are very affordable! Especially if you are planning to elope because their dresses ship fast, too. No need to wait 9-12 months for your dress to be ordered and come in.
