SNOW CANYON ENGAGEMENTS – PETRIFIED SAND DUNES – ST. GEORGE, UTAH
Matt and Deanna are getting married in Zion National Park later this year, and when they flew into St. George to do their venue walk-through, I met up with them! We did their engagements at snow canyon, and wow I laughed the whole time. Matt is so freaking funny!! He was constantly busting some moves, and we were all cracking up.
I LOVE shooting in snow canyon. It’s so perfect as the sun is setting. The view is amazing, and it’s minimal hiking to get beautiful spots. No matter how packed Snow Canyon is, I haven’t ever had issues with shooting in certain spots because it’s so big! Matt and Deanna’s engagements in snow canyon were no different. We had pretty much the whole thing to ourselves, until the end when someone came near up to do some yoga photos haha!
The petrified sand dunes in Snow Canyon are so cool to hike around on and explore. The rock is super grippy, so it’s also not very hard to climb up or down it! Plus it kind of has layers to it, so in a lot of the spots, it’s like there are natural steps ready to go for you! They are even soft enough that you can sometimes go barefoot on them with no problems, too! Depending on where you are in Snow Canyon, the sun goes behind the mountains about an hour or so before the sun actually sets, so then the temperature isn’t as hot as the rest of St. George is.
I loved their outfits with the red + orange rocks! I love how they outfits looked together, too. They KILLED the outfit game! I seriously had so much fun with them, and I cannot wait for their wedding in a few months!! It’s going to be so fun!!
