DETAILS OF
SEASIDE FLORIDA BEACH WEDDING.
I met John and Kim a few years ago when I photographed Kim’s daughter’s proposal in Sundance and her wedding in Illinois. When Kim reached out and asked if I was available to shoot her beach wedding in Seaside, Florida, I was pumped. I had never been to Seaside, Florida, and honestly, I had probably heard of it, but other than that, I knew nothing of Seaside. I flew in 2 days before the wedding so that I could be there for the rehearsal dinner, and when I tell you that I was blown away the moment I saw the beach, I am not even kidding. I have been to lots of beaches around the world, and truly, I had never seen anything like this. The sand was actually white and the water was so clear and blue! It was beautiful.
John and Kim were blending their families, and they really wanted to focus on spending time with their families and having a wonderful vacation with them. They rented the coolest house in Watercolor for all of their kids to stay in with them and they planned things for a full week there.
They were very worried about the weather because Seaside is known to be rainy, but as the day came closer, it looked like the weather was going to be great! But then it started pouring and thundering while everyone was getting ready, and we kept watching the weather app. It kept going back and forth between clearing up in time for the ceremony and not. It was such a gamble! We reworked the schedule and worked around the rain, and their seaside Florida beach wedding turned out PERFECTLY. The rain cleared up just long enough for their first look, then started again, and then ended minutes before the ceremony began. After their ceremony, they had a dinner and bonfire with their guests, and finished the night off at a local bar. The next day, they had rented boats and spent the day at Crab Island.
