PROVO FOOTHILLS HIKE || KELLON + ALICE

Provo Foothills Hike.

For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to do this hike. As you drive into Provo Canyon, there is a giant rock cliff off to your left. Each time I have driven past it, I have noticed that the top is a really pretty grass area, and I have wanted to find a way up there! I have kind of tried to find different ways up to it, and I never could figure it out. I obviously did not try that hard to get there, but today, Kellon and I figured it out.

Yesterday, we wanted to hike to Fifth Hot Springs in Spanish Fork, but when we got there, it was taped off AND there was a ranger preventing anyone from hiking it. We were so frustrated that everything else in the canyon was open and hopping with people, but we could not do a hike that we wanted to do. It was such a waste of our time, so we told ourselves that we were going to make today better. We started driving up Squaw Peak, and it was closed. Then we went to Vivian Park, and it started raining and got really cold. SO, we decided it was time to figure out how to get to the top of this rock cliff.

We parked at one of the Parks closest to the canyon entrance, and we just started walking up the hill towards the spot we were trying to get to. We found a bunch of trails back there and just navigated around as best we could! Finally I pulled out my phone and we used an app to figure out what trails we needed to go on, and THE HIKE WAS SO COOL! It maybe took us an hour to get to the top! The exact spot I was trying to get to had a sign that said it was illegal to go to, so we just got as close as we could.

Kellon was a champ when I asked if we could take a photo. We tried jumping for it, and it probably took 10 tries before we finally got it hahaha so I included some of the outtakes. Today was WAY BETTER than yesterday, thanks to our Provo foothills hike.
