EASTERN IDAHO STATE FAIR – BLACKFOOT, IDAHO

I grew up in a little town called Blackfoot, Idaho. There isn’t a whole lot here, unless you are talking about potatoes because we have a lot of those. If you have ever heard of Blackfoot, I can almost guarantee that it is not because of the Idaho Potato Museum that is home to the largest potato chip in the world, but instead, you have heard of the Eastern Idaho State Fair. For one week out of every year, Blackfoot is HOPPING. It starts off with a parade and then it’s a week full of party. There are shows, concerts, food, games, rides, and animals there. It’s honestly just about the same each year, and also, I was never a huge fan of the fair—until I met Kellon. He grew up just an hour from Blackfoot, so he also grew up coming to the Eastern Idaho State Fair.

The Fair actually holds a special place in my heart because we went to the fair together the same day we got engaged. Now, each year, we go back together to enjoy the food and celebrate our engage-iversary. It is a fun excuse to go have fun. I never rode the rides growing up, and I still don’t ride them, but Kellon was a good sport when I asked if we could go take a picture at the carnival anyways. Our favorite food at the fair this past year were probably the nachos! They were delicious! I also always love looking at the animals and the photography booths! Other than food, we don’t really care about the rest of the fair–we just walk around for fun. It is a fun tradition for us, and one that I hope we can continue for who knows how long.
