Provo City Center Temple Wedding
I will be honest with you–when the Provo City Center Temple was first dedicated, I really had a hard time shooting there. For those who have never been there or shot here, it’s smack dab in the middle of downtown Provo. It’s surrounded by taller buildings, so it’s hard to get any photos without those buildings in them. I struggled with the orange color of the bricks. It was just all around really hard. I was one of the first people to ever shoot at the temple, too, so it wasn’t like you could just search other weddings there to get ideas for photos. I literally had to create everything from scratch.
Since the temple opened, I have consistently shot at this temple probably at least every other month for the last four years. Isn’t that crazy? and you know what is even crazier? I have learned to LOVE shooting this place. It’s so fun for me to shoot right close up to the building. The stained glass is incredible, too! The blues and greens in them are so pretty, and they complement the bricks so well, too. It’s won over my heart so much.
Lexi and Devin actually don’t live in Utah–they live in Idaho. There are temples a lot closer to where they live, but they loved the Provo City Center temple so much that they chose to come here to get married. It’s also crazy that they are both from my hometown, so I get to go hang out in my hometown this weekend for their reception this weekend, and I am pumped! They were so much fun to shoot on their wedding day, and thankfully the weather was so good that day, too!! It was still cold, but not the same bitter cold it has been lately. The sun was out!
Lexi’s dress was SO PRETTY! I have actually photographed her dress before at this temple when I shot Merek and Kate’s Provo City Center wedding, and it remains one of my favorite dresses I have ever photographed–especially when it’s coupled with this temple! All of the colors are just perfect together. I love all of the sparkly details and the way the dress moves, too. It’s a winner.
