DETAILS OF
NEWPORT AND LAGUNA BEACH WEDDING
Oh baby, I love California. I love shooting on the beaches in California, too. I am not someone who likes to swim in the California ocean, but I will gladly shoot the beaches every single day.
Erik and Hilary chose to do a formal session the day before their wedding so that their wedding day could just be focused on them hanging out with their families. Neither of them are from California, but they chose to get married in California, and only their closest friends and families were there to celebrate with them. It was so nice waking up before the sun and being the only ones on the beach. I sure love this beach, too. Anytime I do a wedding at the Newport Beach temple, I usually shoot at this beach. The combination of having a wedding in Newport Beach and then formals in Laguna Beach is one of my favorites.
Let’s talk about Hilary’s dress. I always love knowing what my bride’s dresses look like, so at their engagements, when I asked her what her dress looked like, she said, “I don’t know!” She then explained that her mom was making her dress. Hilary’s mom took the lace from Hilary’s grandma’s wedding dress to make her dress. I LOVE that her Grandma is part of her wedding through her dress, and Hilary’s mom did a phenomenal job with her dress. It’s so perfect for Hilary!!
Their wedding day was so chill and relaxed. They wanted to spend their reception talking with everyone who came and then dancing their hearts out.
Let’s just chat about their wedding cake for a moment. Hilary’s friend Jess just started a cake business with her sister called Butterworks Bakehouse. THE CAKE WAS INCREDIBLE!!! I loved the colors, and I loved the way it was decorated. I didn’t try a piece of it, but Kellon did, and he said that it was delicious.
