NAUVOO TEMPLE WEDDING – NAUVOO, ILLINOIS
I don’t know if I can say this about any other wedding that I have ever done, but I can definitely say this about Brock and Barbara’s wedding–this truly healed my heart. I don’t know how else to explain that. Last year was a very hard year for me emotionally and mentally, and I felt very broken. Honestly, in a lot of ways, I still do. Nauvoo is one of my favorite places I have ever visited, and since they were married in the middle of COVID-19, the entire little town was shut down. It was absolutely silent, and it was amazing. I stayed in the cutest little hotel in the middle of a field and got to walk all around during the morning before their sealing.
Barbara and Brock had their wedding at the nauvoo temple because that was the closest temple to Brock’s home in Iowa. It was seriously such a beautiful day! It was cold, but it was so beautiful. Barbara is from Brazil, so most of her family could not be here in person for their wedding. She has one sister and one cousin who live here in the US, so they, along with their families, got to be there for the wedding. Barbara also had a few friends that she had met at college that came to be her bridesmaids. Beyond that, her family joined in via zoom! It was really cool!
It really was pretty cold, but Barbara also wore a little fur coat for some of the photos, and it was so cute! It was perfect to keep her just warm enough that we could get their photos in! After we were done at the temple, we drove to Iowa for their dinner and reception. Brock’s family was so good to me and so so nice! I had such a wonderful time with everyone!!
