DETAILS OF
GOLDEN HOUR MEADOW FORMALS – PROVO CANYON
Sydney came to me after her original photographer fell through. I am not exactly sure what happened, but whatever it was, I am sure glad it ended up the way it did because I get to work with them! Sydney’s mom owns Harlow Brides, which is one of my favorite bridal shops in Salt Lake City. I have shot quite a few of their dresses and even sent a lot of my brides to them. It was through working with them and getting to know Sydney’s mom, Emma, that got Sydney and I connected.
Even though they get married tomorrow, they chose to do a formal session beforehand. They both mentioned how wonderful it was to get away, just the two of them, forget the stress of wedding planning (especially planning a wedding during COVID-19) and let it sink in that they are almost married.
Sydney told me that she really wanted a field of yellow grass, and I asked her if she would be okay with this one. I hadn’t seen it in a while, but I figured by this time of the year, it would be all yellow. It ended up being PERFECT and for most of the shoot, we had the whole thing completely to ourselves for their golden hour meadow formals. We even had on Operation Underground Railroad helicopter come right over us and land at the far end of the field.
Can we talk about Sydney’s dress for a minute? She had it custom made, and I asked her if she even tried on any dresses when trying to decide what dress she wanted. She said that she didn’t try any on because she knew exactly what she wanted. IT WAS SO PRETTY! The bows on the shoulders, the wrap top, the layered skirt, and the buttons on the back. I AM DEAD. It is so pretty, and it caught the light so beautifully, too.
