I met Taylor in Portland when she was a bridesmaid in a wedding that I was photographing. When she originally reached out to me about photographing her wedding, too, she made a joke about how she wishes we could just do photos in her favorite place in the world–Glacier National Park. She then made a comment about how it was Winter, so we couldn’t do it. I said, “Let’s do it.”
She didn’t really think that I was serious, but I was! and she made it happen! It really was cold, and obviously very snowy, BUT IT WAS A BLAST! We rented a cabin and made it into a fun trip with some other couples and friends. The water was gorgeous, and Erik and Taylor were champs in the cold. We couldn’t get very far into the park because of the snow, but we made the best out of what we could get to.
The whole drive to Glacier, we kept passing log yards, and anyone who knows me know that I LOVE LOG YARDS WOW. I had told them that I wanted to find one to shoot in, and sure enough, there was one right where we were driving. So we stopped, spent 10 minutes shooting, and got everything we wanted. Same with the frozen waterfall on the side of the road. We just saw it and stopped. IT ROCKED.
