Zion Overlook Formals – Zion Nation Park.
Spencer and Maddy are seriously the coolest. We did their engagements in Provo at a spot in the mountains that had a pretty view! It was rocky there, and it also had wildflowers! We did their formals the the overlook in Zion National Park, so how cool that both their engagements and their formals were in places with amazing views?
Maddy grew up near Zion, so she really wanted their formals there. After looking into a few different spots in Zion, they decided this was the best spot. You know what? I TOTALLY AGREE! I actually grew up going to Zion National Park, and I had never been to this overlook! It’s seriously the perfect place for formals in Zion! Why is that? Because you cannot beat this view, AND it’s barely even a hike. To get to this spot, you park in a little parking lot and then “hike” a mile to this overlook. The “hike” is actually more of a walk because it’s so easy. It’s pretty dang flat! Maddy and Spencer carried their wedding clothes to the spot and then changed in time for the sun set to set behind the rocks for their first look.
Spencer was so cute when he saw Maddy in her dress! Aren’t her sleeves so cool? They are my favorite!!! and her flowers?!? I also love them!!
If you are wanting to do photos at the Overlook, here’s what you need to know! The parking lots fill up super fast, and they don’t allow a lot of parking. You will want to condense into as few cars as possible so that you can find parking! The sun sets behind the rocks anywhere from 45-80ish minutes before the sun actually sets. The “hike” itself takes about 15 minutes to get to the overlook!
