DETAILS OF
YOSEMITE ADVENTURE ELOPEMENT AT GLACIER POINT.
—
This elopement was over 5 years ago, but I decided that even though this was so long ago, I wanted to share this elopement on my blog. Up until this point in my career, I had thought that elopements would be fun, but this adventure elopement in Yosemite was such a transformative experience for me, and it honestly changed the whole game for me.

Mariah reached out to me only 3 weeks before they were going to elope. It was a true elopement, and by that, I mean it was planned very last minute and no one knew but us. When we first started talking, they weren’t sure on where they wanted to elope, and if I am being honest, I wasn’t 100% sure where they were going to do it until we woke up the morning of! (Don’t worry–I have learned so much since this elopement, and we plan things beforehand now and make sure we have a solid plan going into your elopement!!) We didn’t know who would be their officiant, so I had the idea for Kellon to get certified online to be their officiant. (Little did I know then that he would actually marry so many of my couples!!!)

Kellon and I were in the middle of finals, so we flew to Sacramento, drove to a Starbucks to finish some of them, and then made the drive to Yosemite. We were sharing an airbnb with Josiah and Mariah (even though we had never met!!). Our maps ended up taking us to the most random location in the middle of the woods, and right as we realized we were lost, a COUGAR came out of the woods and stood right in front of our car. Honestly the coolest experience!!!

We woke up early the next morning, and we knew that we were probably hiking, but LITTLE DID WE KNOW! We met Josiah and Mariah, packed our bags and headed out! We got to the trailhead before sunrise and started our hike. Truly, Kellon and I did not know that this would be such a long and hard hike! We all talked and got to know each other as we hiked, and by the time we reached Glacier Point, we had all had amazing conversations and knew each other pretty well. The view was incredible, too. Josiah and Mariah both picked a spot in the woods to get ready, and then we did a first look, followed by a ceremony at Glacier Point. There were a handful of people up there who all witnessed the elopement and cheered at the end, too!! We took some photos up there and then started our way back down. We reached the car right as it got dark, then we all went back to the airbnb where Mariah made spaghetti and cookies for everyone, and we all watched a movie together.

The following morning, we went and took more photos at the waterfall and in the trees, and then we said our goodbyes. BUT, it was just a see ya later because we have stayed in touch with them and gone on a few trips together since this!! They just had their first baby, and they are some of our good friends now.

I love all weddings, but this adventure elopement in Yosemite holds such a special spot in my heart. The hard hike and the amazing view were incredible, but the feeling that was there all day was the best part. Being with these two and witnessing them saying their “I Do’s” to each other was so cool. The whole day was so emotional in all the best ways, and I am SO GLAD that they chose to elope. It was truly so perfect for them, and I feel so honored to have been a part of it.
