Scott and McKell opted for a formal session before their Fall wedding. When we were trying to pick the location, I told them my top two recommendations, and they chose to have their formals at Vivian Park. I could go on and on about why I love formal sessions either before or after the wedding day. It relieves SO MUCH stress from your wedding day, and it gives you more time to just enjoy your big day. You can spend more time with your family and friends. At the end of the day, most of the photos that you will have hanging on your wall forever are the ones taken of you two in your formal clothes, so they are a big deal! Why not spend some time not on your wedding day to focus on them? You have a lot more flexibility with the location, the weather, and you usually have a lot more time to focus on them then you would on your big day. I will forever advocate for a formal session!
McKell was the last of the girls in her family to get married, and she wanted to wear her mom’s wedding dress. She got to alter it for her, and it fits McKell’s personality so perfectly!!! I think it is so cool when people choose to incorporate different things to their wedding that have a lot of meaning. What has more meaning than wearing your mom’s wedding dress when you get married? I loved how much these two had me laughing during our session. The weather was beautiful, no one else was up there, and the leaves were UNREAL. It does not get any better than this. Vivian Park is always a great place to shoot, no matter what time of year it is, and I do really think I have photographed it in every single season.
