UTAH MOUNTAINTOP ENGAGEMENTS – PROVO CANYON
Riley and Maren came all the way from Idaho for their engagement session. They really wanted mountaintops in their photos, so we did their engagements in Provo Canyon. It was storming pretty bad all day long, but we decided to still go for it, no matter what. It was pretty chilly, but the rain let up just long enough for us to shoot their engagements! We kept them running and moving all around to keep them as warm as we possibly could. They were both such good sports about being in the cold, and honestly, you can’t get more colorful than right after a rainstorm. The rain brings out so much color in the green, and then the clouds that were rolling in were so cool, too! It was pretty windy, but we worked with it!! I really love how their utah mountaintop engagements turned out. Can you even see all of the yellow wildflowers?? This hill gets covered in them during May, and it’s so pretty. I have been shooting this spot for about 8 years now, and it blows me away every single time.
Provo Canyon is actually a great option for photos during any time of the year because there are so many pretty spots that are super accessible. The colors in the spring are vibrant and the colors in the fall are unreal. This spot in particular is like a three minute walk from where we parked. Can you believe you can get views like this without having to hike a ton?? I mean, there are plenty of hikes if you want to hike around a bit.
Can you believe the swirls in the rocks on these mountains? Every time that I drive through this canyon, the rocks amaze me. They are probably my favorite part of the whole canyon.
