SUNDANCE MOUNTAIN ELOPEMENT – SUNDANCE RESORT.

My husband received a text from his uncle asking what I was doing on Saturday. When the text came in, it was Tuesday or Wednesday. I joked with Kellon about if his Uncle Richard was going to tell us he was getting married. Well, after a few texts, we found out that it was true–Richard was getting married! Richard introduced us to Hayley, his fiance, over the phone. We started talking wedding plans, and they mentioned they were looking at getting married in Sundance. My family conveniently has a cabin in Sundance, so we told them that as long as the cabin was available that weekend, we might be able to pull it off. I called my grandpa, and he said that the cabin was indeed available and we could use it to pull off their sundance mountain elopement. Then, things started falling into place. I own macrame, a triangle arbor, and a bunch of rugs that I rent out for ceremonies.

Saturday rolled around, and we all met up at the cabin. Hayley picked the spot for the ceremony, and it ended up being the perfect spot for it. Kellon and I got the ceremony stuff all set up, and then everyone arrived. It was basically just Richard’s kids, Hayley’s kids, and then Richard’s band. About an hour before the ceremony, a literal downpour came out of NOWHERE. It really was the perfect weather and then it just dumped. We watched as the entire setup for the wedding got soaked through.

We waited to see if the rain was going to let up, and it would let up for a second and then start pouring again. We finally got a time where it calmed down for a bit, so we were able to have the ceremony. The trees provided wonderful coverage from the rain, even though it was really muddy. You also cannot tell that everything was so wet, too! The ceremony was so sweet, and then afterwards, his band put on a little concert for everyone while we ate Wallaby’s (which was so incredibly delicious! It was the first time Kellon and I had ever eaten it!) Such a pretty day.
