STUDIO ONE-YEAR-OLD PORTRAITS – OREM, UTAH

I met Raydin right after she was born. I think she was only a few weeks old at the time, and I had even met her mom before she was born! Her aunt and uncle are Cam and Chloe, whose wedding I did. You will even see little tiny baby Raydin in their wedding photos. With the virus, when Raydin’s birthday rolled around, all the studios were closed down. Raydin’s mom asked if I could come do a little session with them, and of course I said yes.

Raydin is so dang cute!!! I really should film everything that we have to do while photographing little kids to smile at us hahaha! It’s like they know when we take out the camera that they should just stop smiling. I think that we had to turn on some music to finally get her to smile. We used my seamless paper backdrops that I get from Pictureline in Salt Lake. They are super easy to set up and take down, as well as easy to transport. We set it up right next to the window in Chloe’s kitchen because it was a hard floor. If you use the papers on carpet, it will just rip and bend, and you don’t want that to happen. It completely defeats the clean even look that you want to get when using seamless paper. Kylie (Raydin’s mom) showed me the outfits that she had picked out for Raydin, and then we decided which colors would work the best for her studio one-year-old portraits. We ultimately opted to do the pink for having a pop of color and then the tan for a more neutral look.

Raydin kept doing this funny thing where she will grab her face and squish it, and that’s her way of playing peek-a-boo! Hahaha I love little kids and how funny they are!
