SNOWY MOUNTAIN ELOPEMENT || PROVO CANYON || JARED + LAINEY

Even though this wedding was the coldest wedding I have ever photographed, I would gladly photograph another snowy mountain elopement any day. Tomorrow is Jared and Lainey’s third anniversary, and I still think this is one of the prettiest settings for an elopement that I have ever seen. I mean, saying yes in the middle of a blizzard? You cannot pick a prettier winter elopement setting.

Jared and Lainey reached out to me only about a week before their elopement to see if I was available. The day of their ceremony, we met at the bottom of the canyon to all drive up together and also to finalize the actual location for the ceremony. There was already quite a bit of snow on the ground, and it was still snowing, too. The snow was so beautiful, and thankfully, the wind wasn’t blowing, either.

The spot that Jared and Lainey had hoped would work for their snowy mountain elopement ended up being perfect. With the snow falling all around them, and surrounded by their closest family members, these two said yes to each other.

As soon as the ceremony was over, we went up higher on the mountain to take photos of the couple with their families and then with the two of them. It was absolutely freezing, and everyone was such a good sport about being out in the bitter cold for a bit. Between the ceremony and photos, we were outside in the cold for at least an hour! By the time we were done shooting, my hands were so numb. I could not even feel if I was pushing the buttons on my camera or not.

Even after three years, I have always been so worried about how cold everyone at this wedding was, but Lainey told me just the other day after I mentioned how cold I was, “What’s funny is Jared and I don’t remember being cold! We love our wedding photos so much!!” So I guess that at the end of the day, you mostly just remember how wonderful it is to be married.
