DETAILS OF
Salt Flats Elopement — Taylor + Liset
I got an email just over a week ago asking if I was available for an elopement last Friday night. I live for anything weddings, but elopements will always hold a special spot in my heart. There’s something so intimate and raw about being with a couple as they get married and being one of the only ones to share that special moment with them.
Taylor and Liset originally had their wedding planned for April 17th in Florida, but everything has changed because of the coronavirus. They are both living in Utah right now, and in her email to me, she said, “at this point, all we want is to be married”. They moved their wedding celebrations to August, but opted for an elopement on the Salt Flats. Taylor’s Uncle Chris lives in Utah, so they were able to have him come officiate their wedding. Chris brought his wife, who is also named Alice!! We both got to be the witnesses to their wedding! Know anyone else who had two people named Alice witness their wedding?? Honestly, I doubt it. My husband was able to come with me, so between him and Alice, Taylor and Liset were able to facetime family members and record their ceremony so that everyone who was unable to make it could enjoy it with them, too.
Taylor and Liset were an absolute joy to work with. I was a little worried about the weather being cold, but it ended up being perfect. It was not very windy (which is pretty uncommon), the sun was out, and there wasn’t any water on the flats. They were so happy about being married, and they were SO EASY to photograph. Literally I had to do basically nothing. I had such a good time with them, and honestly, I could probably shoot them all day, everyday, and not get sick of them, either!
