NANTUCKET ISLAND WEDDING WEEKEND

NANTUCKET ISLAND WEDDING WEEKEND.

Ross and Ashley’s wedding weekend on Nantucket Island was straight out of everyone’s dreams. The details were perfect. Everyone was so welcoming and kind. The weather held out for us (in the midst of a hurricane nearby). Literally, it was unreal. They chose Nantucket Island as the destination for their wedding because Ashley’s family has had a home on Nantucket Island for her whole life. She grew up spending so much time at their home there, and she always dreamt of having her wedding on Nantucket Island.

They started their wedding weekend on Nantucket Island with a rehearsal dinner the night before their wedding with their families and the bridal party. They held the dinner at Ventuno Restaurant. The night started off with a little cocktail hour, followed by a delicious dinner, then roasts (instead of speeches!!! It was so fun), and finally, the night finished off with a welcome party for all of their guests.

The following morning was wedding day! Ross got ready with the boys in a little apartment on Main Street. Ashley and the girls got ready at her parent’s home, which is just a few blocks from Main Street. One of their friend’s owns this beautiful vintage car, and that is what we rode in to get to the ceremony. Ross and Ashley were married at the First Congregational Church on Nantucket, and the ceremony was so beautiful.

After the ceremony, we sent all the guests off to the reception, which was held at the White Elephant. The bridal party stayed behind, and we spent an hour and half getting portraits of Ross and Ashley and the bridal party as we walked through the streets to the reception. Ross had told me that “the walk” with their bridal party was what he was looking forward to the most on their wedding, and those photos were super important to him. It was so fun to get creative with everyone to document the experience of “the walk”

At the White Elephant, the cocktail party was so pretty. The food was incredible, and the views were also amazing. They had their dinner on the covered patio, then a few speeches, and then everyone danced the night away.

The following afternoon, we met back up with Ross and Ashley for a formal session on the beach. This gave them more time on their wedding day to spend it with guests instead of taking portraits of the two of them. It was so windy, but the photos turned out so beautifully!!

I cannot even tell you how welcoming, accommodating, and kind every single person was! Ross and Ashley feel like family now, and I dream of going back to Nantucket one day!! Are you getting married on Nantucket Island? Let’s chat.
