Jordan Pines Engagements in the Fall – Big Cottonwood Canyon, Salt Lake City, Utah.
Hilary is actually friends with two of the brides that I have photographed. It’s actually been super fun, but it all started with Cortney and Jake’s wedding in Portland where I first met Hilary as a bridesmaid. Then, it was Erik and Taylor‘s wedding. By the time we got to Hilary’s wedding, it was honestly just a big reunion with my friends. These girls have such an awesome friend group, and I have loved doing every single one of their weddings. I was so pumped to hear from Hilary!!
We had an absolute blast at their engagements at Jordan Pines. We decided to shoot up at Jordan Pines in Big Cottonwood because it was on the tail end of the fall colors, AND because Big Cottonwood Canyon is actually where Erik proposed. He proposed up at the Lake, but they were down for engagements at Jordan Pines. This meadow stays really pretty even after all of the colorful leaves have fallen off, but luckily we snagged just a bit of color that was left up there! All year long, Jordan Pines is a great spot that you cannot go wrong with. It was a but chilly, but they handled it like champs, and you cannot even tell in the photos. They sure made up for the cold by getting married in California in January! I even learned that Erik and Hilary bond over their love of Post Malone, who happens to also have a home up in Big Cottonwood, too!
I have probably had at least 20 different sessions in this meadow, and I have never before noticed or seen the rays of the sun coming through like they were during almost their entire session. I could not get enough of that pretty light coming in, and the view was so pretty. It honestly does not get much better than this.
