I am so happy that Blake and Aubin chose the Salt Flats as the setting of their intimate wedding. They had a very small, intimate ceremony with their closest family and friends. From beginning to end, their entire ceremony was so full of love. Not only did Blake become a husband, but he also became a dad to Aubin’s son. It was so cute for me to witness that how much Blake loves both of them. He’s such a tender human!
When I arrived at the Salt Flats for their wedding, they have different camp trailers set up for people to get ready in. It was pretty cold, so everyone was staying as bundled as they could before the ceremony. When it was time to start, we all drove over to where the chairs and arbor were set up. Blake and Aubin has done such a phenomenal job at choosing a spot that no one else would be at so that their ceremony could be very intimate. Aubin hid behind the cars and said a prayer with her friends, which was super special to be a part of.
Their ceremony had me, and just about everyone else, laughing so hard most of the time. Their vows were so cute and also contained some funny stories. It was also funny that their vows referenced a lot of the same things, even though they wrote them separately! It was so cute!
Not only were we fighting to get everyone out of the cold, but we were also losing light! Thankfully we got all the family photos done, and then we still had about 10 minutes left of light to get photos of the two of them. The sky LIT UP, and it was absolutely magical.
I always tell people that the Salt Flats are always so beautiful in photos, but seeing it in person is such a different story. It’s unreal, and I think that every single person should make visiting the Salt Flats a high priority on their bucket list. Trust me, when you go there, you will get it, especially if you go during the sunset.
Aubin’s dress is from BHLDN, and it’s GORGEOUS. It’s honestly one of my favorite dresses I have ever photographed. The flowers were done by Booker Florist, and they were perfect. The colors complemented everything perfectly, and then provided the perfect pop of color, too.
