DETAILS OF
FALL UTAH MOUNTAIN FORMALS.
I still remember the first call that I had with Phern. She is so sweet and so full of life, and we really clicked from the beginning. They were coming to Utah to elope at the Salt Flats, but they also wanted photos in the mountains. We decided that doing a sunrise elopement, followed by a lunch with her guests, and then ending the day in the mountains would be the perfect timeline. They were eloping at the beginning of October, and that lined up with when the mountains in Utah are usually in their prime for fall colors. It was a little bit of a gamble on whether or not the fall would come at the normal time this year because of the weird winter we had, but it ended up being perfect.
The week of their elopement, Phern reached out and asked if it would be possible to move their mountain session to the night before their elopement. It worked out with my schedule, so we did it! and it ended up being such a blessing that we did because the next night, it stormed so bad in the mountains. It was so fun spending the night before their elopement together for their fall utah mountain formals!
We shot at one of my favorite places in Big Cottonwood Canyon. I know that canyon pretty well, and no matter how busy this spot is, there has always been room for everyone. I love that there are lots of pine trees, and with the Aspens in the fall, the trees are such a bright and beautiful yellow color. If you haven’t ever driven all of Big Cottonwood in the fall, I highly highly recommend it. It’s unreal, and easily the best time of the year up there.
She is also a photographer (and she’s really good!! You should check her out.), and they were such a joy to work with!!
