DETAILS OF
COVID-19 WEDDING + DRAPER TEMPLE SEALING
Wow, if I could go back even just a month to tell myself how much everything was going to change due to COVID-19, I would. So much has changed, especially in the wedding industry. COVID-19 is literally causing people to change every single thing about their wedding, and it’s honestly breaking my heart.
Brian and Erin got married on March 21st in Draper, Utah. The entire week leading up to their wedding is when the craziness was happening. I texted Erin a week before their wedding to see if she had been contacted by other vendors or her venue and if anything was going to be changing. She responded that so far, everything was still a go! Her venue said they were good, the caterers were good, so they were moving forward. Within a few days, literally everything changed. It seemed like each new day was bringing some new change to their plans. First, their caterer canceled on them. Then, their venue shut down on them. Then Utah decided to make it illegal to meet in groups of 10 or more people (thankfully they changed their minds on that). Then all of the restaurants had to close. We didn’t even know if the temple grounds were going to let me come to take photos!
We were scrambling to figure out how we could still pull off a ring ceremony since their venue was no longer an option and since having it at a different venue was also off the table. We found a park that we could do it at, but the day before their wedding, one of Brian’s friends pulled through with a location for their ring ceremony.
When I woke up the morning of their wedding, I was so anxious. I wanted everything to run smoothly for them, and I wanted them to just have a wonderful wedding day, even if it was nothing like they had planned. When Erin and Brian walked out of the temple, they just radiated joy. Their smiles were so big, they were so happy, and they were married. It was so neat to see that at the end of the day, love wins.
Not all of the friends and family could make it or come to the temple because of the virus, but we quickly took photos with those who were there. They even had family members out in cars waving to them. After the temple, we all headed over to the ring ceremony. The weather was so perfect. The sun was out, it wasn’t cold, and the grass was even pretty green! With how crazy everything was, their wedding day was so calm and wonderful. I could not be happier with how the day went!! and I cannot freaking wait for their reception to happen when everything opens back up!
