CLASSY WINTER BRIDALS ON FROZEN UTAH LAKE
—
I could not possibly love a session more than I love these classy winter bridals on Utah Lake in the dead of winter. Utah Lake is so cool when it freezes over. I actually like to shoot here at all different times of the year, and you can see them in my blog archives. Even though I love the grass in the summer, I am a huge sucker for the ice that comes in the winter!! We were trying to time it right to get the ice stacks for this shoot, but we only got very small stacks and just a solid frozen lake, which was still so cool

I know that at first, it seems pretty dangerous to shoot on a frozen lake, but the lake is only a few inches deep where we were. I think the average depth of the whole lake is 10 feet deep, and all around the edges, it is so incredibly shallow! Which means there is zero risk to fall through the ice right here! So getting pretty classy winter bridals on a frozen lake while being completely safe?? Yes please. I will go back and shoot here every single year.

I put this shoot together with Brynlee Paige, and the incredible bouquet was done by my favorite, Tanaya from Bumble and Blossom Floral. We originally were thinking about doing all neutral colors, but then Tanaya asked if we would be okay with a pop of color. UMMM YES WE WOULD. I love color so much, and it ended up being the most perfect pop of color!! The yellow with the blue and grays in the ice, the white flowy wedding gown, and the black suit is just so classy!!

It was so cold, and we only shot for about 25 minutes, but it was the perfect amount of time. I can be very quick and efficient, so even when there are extreme temperatures outside, don’t worry! I can be quick!!
