DETAILS OF
CLASSY MOAB FORMAL SESSION
Jake and Mary were married right smack dab in the heart of COVID. They were sealed in February of 2021, and they could only have a handful of guests at their sealing. For those who don’t know what a sealing is, it’s the wedding ceremony that happens for members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It happens inside the temple, and no photos are allowed to be taken. When you see a temple wedding on my blog, you may notice that there aren’t any ceremony photos, and that is why! Because sealings were happening indoors during COVID, they did have to limit the amount of guests who could attend. It was common for members of the church to get sealed (which is the same as getting married) and then have a celebration/reception later down the road when COVID wasn’t a thing anymore. That is what Jake and Mary did! They were sealed in February and then decided to have their formals, ring ceremony, and celebration later in the year.
How did they meet? These two had been friends for four years but never dated. They just stayed really close. It took Mary moving away to medical school for Jake to realize he wanted to date her. He flew out to her in California, told her he was sick of being her friend, and now the rest is history.
They wanted their formal session to be in Moab, and we shot at some of my favorite locations. It was so windy, but it was so beautiful for their classy Moab formal session. I shoot in Moab a lot, and these are easily my two favorite locations there. You can see more of my work in Moab by clicking HERE, and you will see that these are my two most frequented spots.
