Blossom Maternity Photos – Utah Capitol Building

Where do I even start with Jake and Em?? I still remember the moment I got the email from Em asking if I was available to shoot their wedding. It’s always an honor when I get to photograph a wedding, but Emily is also a photographer herself. When I get asked to shoot a wedding for a photographer, that’s one of the biggest compliments I could get! It’s a long story, but Emily’s wedding photographer had just cancelled on them, and thankfully, I was available for their big day.

I was so excited then, but looking back now, it really was such a blessing that I got to shoot their wedding. Jake + Em because some of my best friends, and not only did I get to photograph their wedding, but I also photographed their honeymoon, a few couple shoots, and now their maternity photos. Em is pregnant with twin boys that they plan to name Callum and Cohen. I cannot wait for their boys to get here in a few weeks!

Emily really wanted some maternity photos in the blossoms, and the capitol building has the best blossoms! But, if you have gone there during the prime blossom time, you know how absolutely crazy the grounds can get. Even this year with everyone on lockdown, there were still hoards of people there each day. We knew that if we wanted to avoid people, we had to get up and shoot at sunrise! So we did! I can’t imagine being pregnant and having to get up as early as Em did, but she was a champ! Their blossom maternity photos turned out so beautifully! The light was perfect, and even though there were a few other people around, we still safely social distanced. If you are wanting to shoot at the Capitol in the blossoms, definitely go at sunrise! It’s so worth it!
