This was my first time at the Black Sands Beach, and WOW, it BLEW ME AWAY. Choosing to do their formals at the Black Sands Beach was the best decision. Every single time I shoot in San Francisco, I fall more in love with it. In my opinion, it is one of the prettiest parts of America.
Stephen and Kimberly met and started dating while they were in Utah. She graduated from college and moved to the Bay Area for work, so they continued to date long distance. They decided to do their formals while Kim still lived in San Francisco.
Kellon and I drove out to San Francisco two days early to drive to the different spots we were still deciding between. We spent one day exploring the North side of the Golden Gate Bridge, and then we spent the next day exploring all around Big Sur. Once we had checked out all of the locations we were choosing from, I sent over photos to Stephen and Kimberly, and they chose to do the photos at the Black Sands Beach and then snag some by the Golden Gate Bridge, too. We also had time at the end to run over to Muir Woods and grab some photos with all of the green trees right outside the park. I dream of one day going in!
Getting to the spot where we could see the Golden Gate Bridge took quite a bit of time because of traffic. When we got to the beach, we had the whole thing to ourselves. The sand is so cool, and the color of it against the blue water is stunning. The hillside is also covered in greenery, so the combination of the black, green, and blue colors are heavenly.
